Working With Gender and Sexually Expansive Clients (DE-GE-NBCC)


Description
This free course, developed in collaboration with noted ally and provider Dr. Traci Lowenthal, will guide participants through some basic, foundational information related to gender and sexually expansive clients. This course will identify and discuss many components of working with this diverse group of people in an effort to create a beginning exposure to this work. This course is an effective first step in the creation of cultural awareness related to the LGBTQIA+ communities.

Learning Objectives

This course is designed to help you:
- Understand the basics of language and terminology
- Explore a brief history of the experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals
- Understand some of the mental health presentations of these communities
- Understand the basics of creating an affirming office environment

Credit: Successful completion of this course, including an examination and satisfaction survey, will result in the user receiving a certificate for 1 continuing education hour (NBCC credit).
